Earhart Elementary Opt for Knowl School Reviews

I attended Earhart for nine year from kindergarten to eighth-grade i graduated this year and yes i will miss Earhart everything it had to offer the great education that prepares you for high-school and if you need help you can ask anyone yes when i attended i had ups and downs with my teachers but i had fun with all my classmates and my last i felt i could have done better but i blame myself but the teachers are great I will miss Earhart

I am sad to say that this is not the Earhart that was once one of the top 50 schools in the city. There are some great teachers there, but an ineffective principal. The discipline is not the same, classrooms are overcrowded and the test scores have already begun to decline.I am afraid that I will have to take my children out as many other parents are doing at the end of this year.

am a proud parent of Amelia Earhart; my son is a 2008 kindergarten student. I have high expectations for him and his kindergarten teacher has been great with preparing him to be an above average student. I wouldn't recommend any other teacher then her, she has set the foundation for a bright educational future, she's great!!!! Whoo hooo!!!Ms. W Also for the previous comment about the school focusing on test, my comment about that is, if they are excelling in the test that mean they know the material that is being thought, even though its being thought in intevals; kids today must be prepared because life is about test and performance. I'm glad they are preparing them to test well because if you test well you studied hard and learned well.

I think earhart is only concerned about test scores when they really should be focusing on teaching these children and hoping they learn it and not teach one thing one day and on another subject another day. they should make shure these students are grsping what's being taught. There need to be recess. They work these students everyday of the week including weekends. They don't get a break. There are many things they need to improve on at this school and i hope they do it.

i actually attend this school and the school overall is good but it is just the teachers woith their attitude. i know that most are thinking aw its just a phase that every child goes throught but its some parents that agree with me. school is suppose to be a place that you come to know that you will be respected. there you know that your child will get a great education and the teachers are toooo strict. they want you to be perfect with no mistakes and no one is perfect.

I recently attended the back to school parent night and I am proud to say that Dr. Williams has not lowered the standards she has increased them! We learned that the test scores did not decrease last year after Principal Walsh retired (a hugh concern with parents). Dr. Williams has raised the requirement for the Beta Club, placed top performers in accelerated programs to increase the % of students who exceed ISAT standards, in response to parent requests doubled the time spent in physical education and has tremendous plans to continue Earhart's tradition of educational excellence. Personalities are different and Dr. Williams has a different style from Ms. Walsh but the commitment to academic excellence, the community and our children appear to be the same! I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Earhart! Check out the scores for Black Magnet School as a testiment to this school accomplishments. Go Dr. Williams!

I am a parent of 3 student that attend the school and up untill last year i was very satisfied with the school, but since Dr. Williams has taken over i believe she has lowered the standards of the school. This year i will be looking for a new school for my children to attend.Mrs. Walsh is missed greatly. She was not a people person but she made this school what it was. It is sad that the children will be effected because there principal does not have what it take to run a top school.
