Ever since my son came into his class I have noticed a change in his attitude towards school. He actually looks forward to going everyday! When he was at his last school he never wanted to go. Mr. Taylor has a special ability.” Posted By: parent Quality Score: 5 2006-01-09 “My experience with Garfield has been focused on the new principal, Mrs. Rodriguez. I have never seen a more involved principal and a more energetic one. She is always available to parents, students, and teachers and is constantly on the look out for ways to improve the school. She was named the educator of the year for 2005 from South Suburban Area Project, a very active and involved community group. Further, she has managed to raise money for the school to get new screens for every room, to obtain a new P.A. system for the programs in the gym, and various other needed items in the school. She has also obtained outside playground equipment from her involvement with the National Council of Jewish Women. It goes on and on. Why? I think the school is great, and i ecspecially want to put a thumbs up to kindergarden teacher Mrs. Marszalek. She has really made a difference in mine and my 5 year old sons life. Also, everytime I have been to the school, Mrs. Rodriguez has been very polite, and may i add a very busy woman.
