Garfield Elementary School Reviews

The principal is good, but sometimes alot fof the activites are uncordinated.

I just wanted to let everyone know about a very special teacher named Mr. Taylor. Ever since my son came into his class I have noticed a change in his attitude towards school. He actually looks forward to going everyday! When he was at his last school he never wanted to go. Mr. Taylor has a special ability.

My experience with Garfield has been focused on the new principal, Mrs. Rodriguez. I have never seen a more involved principal and a more energetic one. She is always available to parents, students, and teachers and is constantly on the look out for ways to improve the school. She was named the educator of the year for 2005 from South Suburban Area Project, a very active and involved community group. Further, she has managed to raise money for the school to get new screens for every room, to obtain a new P.A. system for the programs in the gym, and various other needed items in the school. She has also obtained outside playground equipment from her involvement with the National Council of Jewish Women. It goes on and on. District 170, especially Garfield School is lucky to have her.

I am really amazed at garfield school, because everyone told me not to enroll my children there. Why? I think the school is great, and i ecspecially want to put a thumbs up to kindergarden teacher Mrs. Marszalek. She has really made a difference in mine and my 5 year old sons life. Also, everytime I have been to the school, Mrs. Rodriguez has been very polite, and may i add a very busy woman. She is the principal, by the way.So keep up the good work and i hope to be able to enroll my other children there one day.

One of Garfield Schools 4th grade teachers Mr. Taylor is absolutely wonderful! My daughter admires him and is eager to get to school on time because he makes learning fun. When I first met him I thought that he must still be a new teacher because he is so enthusiastic about teaching and I feel we have been blessed with him in our daughter's life.
