Griffith Senior High School Reviews

This school lacks caring. They do not get to know the students in a personal way. The curriculum is watered down. For example, instead of making students read classic novels, they watch the movie of the classics. Very few teachers follow a syllabus and or the textbook. (Especially in English and Science). My child gets a lot of worksheets. .

We came as a transfer from another city & school system 2yrs ago and I have to say the transition was GREAT, the most helpful and friendly school system we have ever been involved with. I like the way everything is handled and my son has improved alot socially, I highly recommend Griffith and its schools!5 STARS.

The High School has been a major disappointment. The math department is very weak. When graduates take entrance exams, they are quite surprised at what they have not been taught. I have had three children graduate in the past six years. All are above average students, and all have said that they were not where they should have been academically. The support of the band has been non existent to date. There are high hopes that the new principal will bring new life and support to the program. As far as everyone being treated equally, no way. Athletic 'stars' somehow escape a great deal of detection. This school needs to join this century and get on track.

I think there are a few problems at this school. Having cops in the school makes me nervous. Kids need a solid education and some of the teachers, this is the most important thing. Some it seems to be a social calling. I wish there were a few less problems and more student, teacher involvement. These kids need to be ready for school and I think a large majority aren't getting it especially when there is no encouragement from home. Somethings come from our homes, a lot is environment in school and if kids are worried more about who is passing what to whom in school and intimidation and things, they aren't going to be quality producers. We need to focus on getting these kids shaped up to be college material so they can succeed.

I just have 3 words about this school, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! Everything about the school is great. Nice teachers, staff, and counselors. Also great building and very good technology!
