Merrillville Intermediate School Reviews

Child are expected to act as mindless robots on a daily basis and the school answer to normal behavior is detention, detention, detention. Please, as educated professionals, can't you find a more productive way of teaching and challenging our children than by dismissing them and making them feel as if they are insignificant and not worth the time.

Your children must not be minorities, because if they are you won't get much help from the teachers.

My son has been a student at MIS since September. I am completely satisfied & overjoyed that he is in a good school. His teachers are very caring and if there is a problem they are right on it. The communication is A+. He has learned more this year than at the private school I took him out of. I would recommend MIS and the town of Merrillville to anyone looking for a new community to live in. I don't regret my decision to leave my old community at all.

My child is very happy at this school. Last year at Iddings my child was struggling and he received no support or help from his teacher. Too many children in each class and quite frankly the teacher should have not been teaching. She was near retirement age and not well physically to be in a classroom . This year my son had an excellent teacher and he made the honor roll each semester and even the high honor roll. My son is doing excellent in this school.
